alicia: maternity

Photobucket
You don't see many maternity photos on this blog, because I don't shoot them very often . . . and I think it's because I can't possibly let myself be involved in the type of maternity shoot that doesn't turn out like this. Alicia's maternity session was a vision I have had for a long time, right down to her stunning Free People dress, handmade head piece, and willingness to reschedule to an evening that gave us the most perfect light. Alicia is an amazing portrait photographer in Montana, and here she is expecting her third little boy in January. She is an amazing mother, a kind and warm person, and becoming a lovely friend. Alicia, thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this such a wonderful experience for me!

a change is gonna come . . .

Ah, I just love, love, love this time of year for so many wonderful reasons. It is not only my favorite season, but it always feels like such a fresh start for me, as this is my quiet time of year . . . lots of reflection takes place on the past wedding season, marketing ideas come to life and are made real, new communications begin with excited brides-to-be, and our Halloween candy bowl remains overflowing with the joys and highs of chocolate, peanut butter, nuts and caramel. In the next few weeks, I will be wrapping up the final post-production on my September and October weddings, hanging Christmas lights, and listening to Bing Crosby every chance I get. It's a beautiful life . . . :) We have lots of changes coming our way in the next couple of months, so stay tuned for 1) a new baby! We will find out boy or girl on November 12th!! and 2) a new logo! This means big things for me, even though that phrase doesn't make a lick of grammatical sense. In a sense, a new logo is kind of a new baby for my business (right?!) Some of these big things include a more simple, organic look. It includes the ability to stamp my images that go on Facebook and my blog with my logo (tastefully). It means dividing two new redesigned logos for both wedding and boudoir photography, so that I can better market that ever-growing part of my business. It means the ability to customize flash drives, DVD cases, print boxes and other marketing materials with ease and elegance. And it means a ton more things that help me to better brand my business. 2013 will be a reinventing year for me . . . so many blessings, both personally and in business, are coming my way . . . and a heartfelt thank you to the amazing clients, vendors, friends and families who help me make it all happen!

the burian family

Once in a while, I have the pleasure of working with my clients in a whole different way, and that is in seeing the adoreableness they create when they bring little ones into the world!

Family photo sessions with the littlest of ones are very candid, but spending the time you need to capture their personalities is such a wonderful gift. Thank you Travis and Kristin!

baby aimon

These sweet little babies lately are making me very anxious to meet the little one who keeps me from sleeping on my belly anymore! Sweet little Aimon was just under two weeks old when I photographed him with his beautiful mama, Addie. He stayed all snuggled in and slept like a little champ . . .

how to make a baby smile

Happy Monday, everyone! I flew in early yesterday afternoon from a whirlwind trip to upstate New York, where I photographed a wedding on Friday and two portrait shoots as well . . . I made sure to spend lots of time relaxing, with my family, shopping at a couple of my favorite local stores, and eating a handful of my favorite foods. This morning I made my list of Things to Blog and it's quite lengthy, so please stay tuned for much more eye candy. In the meantime, little miss Grace turned one year old the very same day I photographed her. And she was quite happy about it. I honestly don't do enough portrait sessions to give me that full blown confidence to keep a baby that has just met me for the first time happy for an hour or two, but I do know the airplane works wonders. :) Keep on smiling, little one!

'tis the season: holiday family portraits!

Photobucket
It's a bit hard to believe, but the seasons, they are a changing! This is actually my favorite time of year . . . growing up in upstate New York spoiled me with the absurd amount of apple trees, orchards, pumpkin patches, blood-red maple trees, and sunshine in October. We have almost all of that in Montana, so no complaints on my part. Fall remains my favorite season, and I want to share it with you, giving you just what you need for a handful of beautiful family photographs to share on your holiday greeting cards! You can be smiling and relaxed . . .

You can be goofy . . .

You can throw your kids in the air . . .

You can even bring your furry friend . . .
Photobucket
And I promise to catch one of the two of you as a couple, as long as you promise not to make any comments like "oh, we have to pretend we like each other?" I hear that too much, and it's a bit sad.

Sessions this year will be somewhat of a mini-session, meaning held in one location, one outfit (unless Junior has a blowout!), and will last about 30-45 minutes long. In the end, you'll receive 25 digital files that contain a mix of the entire family, the kiddos together and individually, and mom and dad together. The images are all high-resolution and ready for you to drag-and-drop into any holiday card template you find that pleases you . . . and holiday card templates are always available through me if you want to, ahem, keep it local. ;) If you are interested, shoot me an email at morgan@morganlamare.com, and I will send you over the rest of the information. Have a wonderful week!

all grown up: jorden

Our beautiful niece, Jorden (technically speaking, she won't be mine until next weekend) is a big bad senior this year . . . which for me is still unbelievable even thought when I met her she was just in Junior High. Joe met her the day she was born and has watched this beauty grow up right before his eyes, so I can't imagine his feelings about the woman she has become! She is smart, beautiful, and an incredible athlete and volleyball player . . . and very, very loved!

a favorite family of mine

Photobucket
I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather and fourth of July celebrations! I know I am . . . Joe's parents are visiting and we are spending some wonderful time with family, taking a few days off from the computer and doing what's most important. I could not, however, resist a blog post celebrating one of my most favorite families. I met Erica and Tony when Miles and Ava went to the same day care as infants, and we have been friends ever since. Asher came along a few years later, and now they are complete! Tony's mom and sister were in town when we did this shoot, so naturally they got some alone time with the boys. I love the relaxed feel of this shoot, with amazing light and beautiful subjects! Enjoy!
